India sees fastest growth in electronic waste generation.

According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) report, India has generated the highest amount of electronic waste globally from screens, computers, and small IT and telecommunications equipment (SCSIT) between 2010 and 2022. According to the '2024 Digital Economy Report', India aims to increase its SCSIT waste production from 3.1 per cent in 2010 to 6.4 per cent in 2022.


      India's digital waste growth underscores environmental challenges amid rapid technological advancement.

      The report calls for sustainable practices to manage electronic waste and promote inclusive digital growth.
