Important Days

International No Diet Day is celebrated worldwide on 6 May to promote body acceptance, embracing diversity and regarding all body shapes and sizes. The purpose of celebrating this important day is to spread awareness on issues like weight discrimination and fatphobia, and educate the masses on unhealthy dieting practices. The theme of International No Diet Day 2024 is "Embrace Yourself: Reject Diet Culture, Love You". International No Diet Day was first observed in the United Kingdom. British feminist Mary Evans Young is credited with starting the movement, inspired by her own struggles with body acceptance and anorexia. The first No Diet Day was held on 5 May, 1992.
