India launches five-day Millet Festival in Indonesia to raise awareness and create market for millet-based products in ASEAN

India launched a five-day ASEAN-India Millet Festival here in the Indonesian capital to raise awareness about millets as a farmer-friendly and sustainable food option and create a market for millets-based products among the 10-member ASEAN bloc. The 'ASEAN-India Millet Festival' at Kota Casablanca Mall, a major shopping venue in South Jakarta, aims to create a market for millet and millet-based products among ASEAN member states. The 10 member countries of ASEAN are Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. The exhibition featured five Indian FPOs, namely City Block FPC, Jewargi Taluka Millets FPC, Bhumitarajlalpur, Vam Agro, and Lambasinghi Tribal Products FPC, and two start-ups namely Taru Naturals and Sattva Millets and Food Products (MIBLS), which have unique millets.
