Important Days

Every year, World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed on 28 April. On April 29, 1971, the International Labour Organisation adopted the Occupational Safety and Health Convention. In 2003, the International Labour Organisation announced that April 28 will be observed as World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Since then, the important day has been observed on that day. The Safety Day was first celebrated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2003. The theme for World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024 is to focus on 'ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate'. The International Labour Organization (ILO) observes this day to stress the prevention of accidents and diseases at work, capitalising on its traditional strengths of tri-partyism and social dialogue.
