India topped the medal tally with 8 medals - 5 gold, 2 silvers and 1 bronze at the 2024 Archery World Cup Stage-1 held in Shanghai, China from 23 April to 28 April 2024. The Indian men’s recurve team won a historic gold medal at the Archery World Cup Stage-1 by defeating the world-champion South Korean team for the first time ever. India sent a 16-member archery team for the Shanghai event. It consisted of 8 men and 8 women players. The Indian men’s recurve team of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav defeated the World no.1 ranked South Korean team in the final. The Indian team defeated South Korea’s team consisting of World and Asian Games champions Lee Wooseok and Olympic champions Kim Je Deok and Kim Woojin 5-1 (57-57, 57-55, 55-53) to win a gold medal after 14 years. Jyothi defeated Andrea Becerra of Mexico to win the women’s individual compound gold medal. In the mixed compound event, Jyothi Vennam and Abhishek Verma won the gold medal, In the women’s compound team event, Jyothi, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur won the gold medal. Jyothi Vennam has won a total of 19 medals at the Archery World Cup -8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.


      The Archery World Cup Stage -1 was organised by the World Archery in Shanghai, China, from 23 -28 April 2024.

      It is the first of the four World Cup events to be organised by the World Archery in 2024.
