Indian men's hockey team midfielder Hardik Singh and women's side captain Savita on Tuesday won the FIH Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year (women) awards respectively.

The awardees were determined through a voting process involving a panel of experts, national associations represented by their team captains and coaches, as well as fans and media. Dutch player Xan de Waard, meanwhile, won the FIH Women's Player of the Year honour.Hardik Singh was part of India’s Tokyo 2020 bronze medal-winning team. The midfielder was the standout player for India in the opening couple of matches of the 2023 FIH Hockey World Cup but was later ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
