Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi was sworn in for his third term as the President of Egypt on 2 April 2024, at the Egyptian Parliament's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. President Sisi won the presidential election held in December 2023 with an overwhelming majority. He won 89.6 percent of the vote in the December election, with a turnout of 66.8 percent of more than 67 million registered voters. El-Sissi was first elected as president in mid-2014, then reelected in 2018.
