Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju took additional charge as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries. President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Union Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras. After this, Rijiju was given the additional charge of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. His announcement came at a press conference a day after the BJP-led NDA announced its seat-sharing pact and gave five seats to the Chirag Paswan-led LJP (Ram Vilas), ignoring his faction's claims. Kiren Rijiju is an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh who is the Cabinet Minister of Earth Sciences and Food Processing Industries in the Government of India since 2023 and 2024 and a member of the parliament in Lok Sabha from Arunachal West since 2014 and from 2004 to 2009.
