World Braille Day 2024!

Important Days

World Braille Day is observed every year on January 4 to honour the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille writing system for blind and visually impaired individuals. World Braille Day is an international day on 4 January and celebrates awareness of the importance of braille as a means of communication in the full realization of the human rights for blind and visually impaired people.

World Braille Day, annually observed on January 4, is a profound tribute to Louis Braille, the visionary mind behind the transformative braille system.

Born in 1809 in France, Louis faced the adversity of losing his sight in childhood.

However, his resilience and determination led to the creation of one of history’s most revolutionary systems.
