Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the priority corridor of the Agra Metro Rail Project, which aims to connect the Unesco World Heritage sites including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Sikandra Tomb, for tourists. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the Agra Metro from the Taj Mahal Metro Station. Agra Metro service will start operating for the general public on March 7. The general public will be able to travel in Agra Metro trains from March 7 by paying a fare ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 30 per passenger. These Agra Metro trains will operate from 6 am to 10 pm. As many as 28 CCTV cameras have been installed at one station. The responsibility for the security of all the stations has been given to the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UP SSF). About 150 UP SSF personnel have been deployed at all the stations.


      There are 14 stations in the first corridor of Agra Metro.

      Out of which the construction work of six stations of the Priority Corridor has been completed. Among them, the Taj East Gate, Captain Shubham Gupta, and Fatehabad Road metro stations are elevated and the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Mankameshwar metro stations are underground.
