Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2024.

Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2024. Yamamoto, who became the 53rd architect to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, was recognised for his work created over a five-decade career. He becoming the 9th Japanese architect to receive such honor.


      In recent years the jury has also recognized lower-profile designers, such as Francis Kéré of West Africa (2022), Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal (2021) and Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara (2020).
