On 7 December 2022, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution for. Declared 5 March every year as "International Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness Day". The first International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness was observed on 5 March 2023. 5th March 2024 mark the observance of the second International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness.
