The Telangana State Board for Wildlife has approved a proposal by the Forest Department to declare the corridor area between Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra) and Kawal Tiger Reserve (Telangana) as a conservation reserve. The proposals will soon be sent to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Once the process is completed, the 1,492-square kilometre area in Kagaznagar and Asifabad divisions will be a conservation reserve, with increased protection and conservation measures. Among other significant decisions, the compensation for deaths resulting from wildlife attacks has been raised to 10 lakh, up from the previous amount of ₹5 lakh. The board also backed initiatives to increase cellphone connectivity in remote areas, a move that is expected to enhance communication and safety in these regions. The board gave its nod to T-Fiber connectivity, which will extend to all villages and settlements in forested regions across the state.

Out of the 24 proposals tabled at the meeting, 19 received approval while five, pertaining to the core area, were declined.

As Telangana takes these robust strides towards wildlife preservation and forest conservation, the state sets a commendable example for others to follow.
