India has officially introduced the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, marking a significant step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of globalizing UPI. Indian visitors can use their UPI-enabled application to make a payment by scanning a QR code on the Eiffel Tower website. The UPI, an instant payment system established by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in 2016, integrates multiple bank accounts into a single mobile app, streamlining various banking functions, seamless fund routing, and merchant payments.

UPI formally launched at the iconic Eiffel Tower at the huge Republic Day Reception.
