Martyr's Day or Shaheed Diwas is observed in India on several dates. January 30th is observed as Martyr's Day or Shaheed Diwas in memory of Mahatma Gandhi. Also, March 23 is remembered as the day when three brave freedom fighters, namely Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar, were hanged by the British. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in the Birla House during his evening prayers on January 30, 1948. Gandhiji was a freedom fighter, a simple man with great determination, a man who gave his life for India's independence, welfare, and development.


      30 January is celebrated as Shaheed Diwas, or Martyr’s Day, in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, and 23rd March is celebrated as Martyr's Day to remember the sacrifice of three extraordinary freedom fighters of India.

      30 January 2024 marks the 76th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi - the Father of the Nation.
