Important Days

The International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust is annually observed on 27 January to remember and honour the six million Jewish victims and millions of other victims of Nazism during World War II. The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 as the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust in November 2005, with resolution 60/7. This date was chosen to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, in 1945.
