Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) approves various acquisition proposals worth Rs 2.23 lakh crore to boost Indian defense sector

The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh gave approval regarding Acceptance of Requirement (AON) for various capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 2.23 lakh crore, out of which the acquisition amount is Rs 2.20 lakh crore (total 98%). This will provide a substantial boost to the Indian defense industry towards achieving the goal of 'self-reliance'. DAC has awarded AON the procurement of two types of anti-tank munitions, Area Denial Munitions (ADM) Type-2 and Type-3. Which are capable of neutralizing tanks and armored personnel carriers and enemy personnel. Under the Buy (India) category, AON has also been awarded for procurement and integration of Automatic Target Tracker (ATT) and Digital Baseline Computer (DBC) for T-90 tanks, which will enhance the combat advantage of T-90 tanks over rival platforms. Will help maintain. In addition, DAC has procured Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk 1A from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) (Indian-IDDM) for the IAF, which Provided under AON. ​
