It is aims to protect farmers from the effects of climate change, water scarcity, and other dangers that impact their production of silk. The initiative has been launched as a pilot project spanning five development blocks of four districts of the state. The Agricultural Insurance Company of India and the department are jointly implementing this project. In the first phase, 200 sericulturists from five blocks in four districts—Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Nainital—received insurance coverage.
