Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar takes over as Chief of Western Naval Command

Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar took over as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command (WNC) from C Ajit Kumar at a ceremony at the Command Post, Headquarters Western Naval Command, Mumbai on Sunday. Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar retired. The outgoing and incoming Commander-in-Chief were given a Guard of Honor and then the baton was handed over to the new Commander-in-Chief. On assuming command, Vice Admiral Hari Kumar paid floral tributes at the Gaurav Stambh Memorial. An official statement said, "An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1983. He has expertise in artillery and has served on ships including a destroyer and aircraft carrier INS Have taken command of five ships."
