67th Ballon d'Or Argentina's Lionel Messi wins the Ballon d'Or award for the 8th time

FIFA World Cup-winning Argentina legend Lionel Messi was awarded the prestigious Ballon d'Or award for the eighth time on October 30. The award is a tribute to the legend for his outstanding performance over the years. Messi, who hails from Argentina, made his debut in 2004 and his career spanned almost 30 years. Messi had previously won this award 8 times in the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021. He also won the Laureus Award for Best Male Athlete of 2022 ahead of other leading athletes including Rafael Nadal, Kylian Mbappe and Stefan. Messi was also awarded the Best Man award during the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in February.
