19th NAM Summit set to begin in Uganda's Kampala; EAM Jaishankar to lead Indian delegation. The 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit is set to kick off on Friday in Uganda's capital, Kampala, with the Indian delegation led by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.External Affairs Minister (EAM), Dr. S. Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation at the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to be held in Kampala, Uganda on 19-20 January 2024. The Summit will be preceded by deliberations at the Ministerial and Senior Officials levels. Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh is representing India at the NAM Foreign Ministers’ meeting which will precede the NAM Summit. Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan will represent India at the G-77 Third South Summit which will be held in Kampala on 21-22 January 2024.


      During the summit, Uganda assumed the NAM chairmanship for 2024-2027. Uganda took over the leadership from Azerbaijan (2019-2023).

      President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was elected as the chair of the 19th NAM Summit and took over from H.E Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan

      NAM was formally established at the First (I) Summit held on 1st–6th September 1961 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
