NSPAAD Launches ‘Report Fish Disease’ Mobile App to Monitor Disease Outbreaks?

Aimed at boosting India’s aquaculture sector, the National Surveillance Programme for Aquatic Animal Diseases (NSPAAD) project has introduced a mobile app ‘Report Fish Disease’ to track and monitor fish diseases across the country.The mobile application intends to empower fish farmers with a convenient and efficient platform to report diseases on their farms. Its intuitive and user-friendly interface enables easy accessibility to fish farmers.
In February 2023, MoFAH&D launched NSPAAD Phase-II under PMMSY with a total cost of Rs.33.8 crores for implementation in all States and Union Territories for a period of 3 years.
It is launched to improve the collection of information on the distribution and occurrence of aquatic animal diseases.
The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) is being implemented by the Department of Fisheries at a total estimated investment of Rs. 20,050 Crore for a period of 5 years from 2020-21 to 2024-25.
