Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Amazon sign MoU to use river Ganga for cargo movement
MOUs and Agreement
An MoU between Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Amazon Seller Services Private Limited (Amazon) to promote cargo movement and customer shipment and transportation of products through inland waterways using River Ganga (National Waterway 1). (MoU) was signed. The collaboration between IWAI and Amazon marks a significant advancement in furthering the transportation of e-commerce cargo along our inland waterways. The collaboration between Amazon India and IWAI aims to enhance inland waterways as an affordable and sustainable mode of transportation and to promote cargo movement and transportation of customer shipments/products through inland water transport by using the national Prime Minister This is another step towards realizing the Marine Amrit Kaal Vision 2047. Amazon is committed to using all possible modes of transportation in the country, including rail, air, water and surface, to ensure faster, cost-effective delivery of customer packages, making it efficient, sustainable and more reliable delivery and providing wider reach to its millions of people.
