Former Nagaland Governor and senior BJP leader Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya passed away in Mumbai. He was 92 years old and is survived by two children and a wife. The veteran BJP leader had also worked with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Acharya had served as the Governor of Nagaland, Tripura, Assam and also held responsibilities as the Governor of Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister of the state expressed shock and grief over the demise of PB Acharya, who served as the Governor of Nagaland state from 19 July 2014 to 31 July 2019. He had the honor of working with three Chief Ministers of Nagaland and has a very good relationship with all of them, describing the late Acharya as a "phenomenal statesman and a great soul" whose main concern was to serve the people. . The Chief Minister said that during his tenure in Nagaland, Acharya handed over library books to many schools under a mission to ensure that every school was equipped with a library.
