In January 2024, officials of the IIT-Madras will visit Sri Lanka to begin the process of setting up a branch of its campus in Sri Lanka
The process involves presenting a report to the University Grants Commission (UGC) outlining courses and initiating the establishment process of the campus branch
The campus is expected to help Sri Lankan students pursue higher education locally at an affordable price.
