Important Days

Public Service Broadcasting Day is celebrated on 12th November to honor the immense contribution of public service broadcasting to our society. This day is celebrated every year to commemorate the first and last visit of Mahatma Gandhi to the studios of the then All India Radio, Delhi, now All India Radio, in 1947. He addressed the displaced people who had temporarily settled in Kurukshetra, Haryana after Partition. On this occasion, All India Radio, Delhi organized a program in its premises. Gandhiji's favorite bhajans including Vaishnav Jan Toh were recited by artists from All India Radio and Delhi University.
