Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman has been chosen as the recipient of India's highest film honour, the 53rd Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Rahman, who is known for her beauty and acting skills. Union Minister of Communications and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur revealed the award on X and it couldn't have come at a better time for the 85-year-old actor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted, "His journey in Indian cinema has left an indelible mark. An epitome of talent, dedication and grace, he embodies the best of our cinematic heritage. Congratulations to him." This happened on a day when Indian cinema fans were celebrating the 100th birthday of Dev Anand, a co-star whom she admired and with whom she often worked.
