A joint bilateral military training exercise between the Indian Army and the Malaysian Army, "Exercise Harimau Shakti 2023", began on Monday (October 23) at Umroi Cantonment, located in Ri Bhoi district in the northeastern state of Meghalaya.

A joint bilateral military training exercise between the Indian Army and the Malaysian Army, "Exercise Harimau Shakti 2023", began on Monday (October 23) at Umroi Cantonment located in Ri Bhoi district in the north-eastern state of Meghalaya. While the Malaysian contingent consisted of the 5th Division of the Malaysian Army, the Indian contingent was represented by a battalion of the Rajput Regiment. The last edition of the exercise between the armies of the two countries was held in Pulai, Kluang, Malaysia in November 2022, the Indian Army said in a press release on Monday. The exercise 'Harimau Shakti', which will run till November 5, 2023, will involve around 120 personnel from both sides. The objective of the joint exercise is to enhance military capabilities to conduct multi-domain operations in sub-conventional scenarios.
