As an important step to promote financial inclusion and support in the fisheries sector, an important meeting focused on 'Ghar-Ghar KCC Campaign' was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary, Fisheries. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various states and Union Territories, Reserve Bank of India, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Scheduled Commercial Banks, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, State Level Bankers' Committees (SLBCs) and Regional Rural Development Banks. In his address, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi stressed the need to extend the KCC facility to the last person in the fisheries value chain, including ensuring that cover is provided to every eligible person. He also said that the reasons for rejection of KCC applications should be analyzed and efforts should be made to reduce rejection of applications and expedite approval.
