Indian Navy conducts security exercise 'Prasthan' off Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

Under the aegis of Eastern Naval Command, Naval officers from Andhra Pradesh conducted Exercise Department 2023 for Offshore Development Area Security at Kakinada. According to a Navy statement, the exercise was conducted on ONGC's rig ship Platinum Explorer and Vedanta Limited's RG fixed oil platform. The exercise was aimed at rehearsing responses to contingencies and checking the efficacy of security mechanisms in ODA. It saw the participation of multiple organizations such as the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, oil operators, port authorities, state fisheries departments and marine police. Went. Indian Navy assets include INS Kora, INS Tihayu, four immediate support ships, marine commandos, explosive ordinance disposal teams and helicopters.
