PM Modi launches 511 Pramod Mahajan Rural Skill Development Centers in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched 511 Pramod Mahajan Rural Skill Development Centers in Maharashtra through video conferencing. These centers established in 34 rural districts of Maharashtra will conduct skill development training programs in various sectors to provide employment opportunities to rural youth. The Prime Minister said that the demand for skilled Indian youth is increasing at the global level. Referring to the increasing age profile in the demography of many countries, the Prime Minister referred to a study which said 16 countries planned to provide employment to about 40 lakh skilled youth. "India is producing skilled professionals not only for itself but for the world," the Prime Minister said. He said the skill centers in Maharashtra will prepare local youth for global jobs and equip them with skills in construction, modern farming, media and entertainment. And will provide skills in electronics. The Prime Minister also stressed the need to provide training in soft skills such as basic foreign language skills, use of AI tools for language interpretation, which will make them more attractive to recruiters.
