On October 20, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor at Sahibabad RapidX station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and launched India's first regional rapid transit system (RRTS).

Delhi-Meerut RRTS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor at Sahibabad RapidX station in Uttar Pradesh on October 20. After the inauguration, PM Modi also flagged off the RapidX train connecting Sahibabad to Duhai depot. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on October 19 announced that the country's first semi-high-speed regional rail service RapidX has been renamed as NaMo Bharat. The operating speed of the train will be 160 km per hour. The train will have one ladies coach and one premium coach and the Rapidex will also have a train attendant. While going from Delhi to Meerut, the second coach will be reserved for women, one of which will have a seating capacity of 72 passengers. An additional 10 seats are also reserved for women in other coaches of the train.
