Department of Land Resources (DoLR) signs MoU with National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC) to monitor watershed development projects

Department of Land Resources, DoLR and National Remote Sensing Centre, NRSC on Tuesday signed an MoU for monitoring of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Irrigation Scheme – Watershed Development Component, WDC 2.O. It aims to restore the ecological balance by exploiting, conserving and developing degraded natural resources like soil and water. The MoU was signed in the presence of Ajay Tirkey, Secretary, Department of Land Resources, and Somnath, Secretary, Department of Space, in New Delhi. Speaking to All India Radio, Somnath said that this MoU will help in better utilization of barren lands and help in groundwater recharge.
