Skyroot Aerospace, an emerging player in the Indian private space industry, recently unveiled Vikram-I, its rocket designed to deliver satellites into low Earth orbit.

Science and Technology

The first orbital launch of Vikram I is expected early next year, which will be the Hyderabad-based startup company's second rocket launch. The 7-storey high Vikram I is a completely carbon structure and will carry multiple satellites into space simultaneously. Skyroot Aerospace achieved a significant milestone by becoming India's first private entity to send a rocket to space. This achievement was realized with the successful launch of Vikram-S rocket from ISRO's launch facility at Sriharikota on November 18, 2022. Skyroot Aerospace has recently announced that it has completed its Vikram launch for its nanosatellite constellation for Earth observation. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with Prometheus Earth Intelligence of France to provide launch services using the vehicles.
