The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has become part of the prestigious 18-member steering committee of the International Competition Network (ICN) after "persistent efforts", the regulator said on Wednesday. The Steering Committee is the supreme body of ICN. The ICN, which consists of 140 competition agencies, generally provides a specialized, but informal, venue for antitrust authorities to maintain regular contact and address practical competition concerns. The ICN is the only global body that specifically deals with competition. Is dedicated to law enforcement and its members represent national and multinational competition authorities. According to its website, members produce work through their participation in flexible project-oriented and results-based work groups.
