World Students Day 2023 is celebrated every year on 15 October to commemorate the birth anniversary of teacher and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

World Students Day 2023: This day is celebrated on 15 October in honor of former President of India and Missile Man Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was born on 15 October 1931. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India (2002–2007). Apart from being a politician, he was also a scientist and teacher. He played a key role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998 and hence, earned the title of 'Missile Man of India'. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's role and his dedication to teaching cannot be described in words. He always identified himself as a teacher. He suffered a cardiac arrest while teaching at IIM College, Shillong. This demonstrated his dedication towards teaching. In 2006, in the President's address at the presentation of National Awards to teachers, he said that "Teachers have to realize that they are the builders of the society. A good society can be built only when students have the knowledge and May they be efficient."
