A grand parade was organized by the Police Force Regional Headquarters, Lucknow on 24 October 2023 to celebrate the 62nd Raising Day of the Indo-Tibetan Police Force.

Important Days

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police was established on 24 October 1962 to reorganize border intelligence and security arrangements along the Indo-Tibetan border. Initially only four battalions were sanctioned. ITBP was initially established under the CRPF Act. The number of ITBP battalions gradually increased and currently ITBP has 60 service battalions, 4 specialist battalions, 17 training centers and 07 logistics establishments. In the year 2004, in pursuance of the recommendations of the GOM on "One Border One Force", the entire 3488 km stretch of the India-China border was handed over to the ITBP for border guarding duty and accordingly, the ITBP replaced Assam.
