Karnataka launches Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar Hridaya Jyoti Yojana for cardiac emergencies

The scheme seeks to install emergency equipment at public places to help people suffering from heart attacks within critical response time. The Karnataka Health Department on Tuesday launched the Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar Hridaya Jyoti Yojana to treat people suffering from sudden heart attacks and heart-related problems. Puneet Rajkumar, who died of a heart attack at the age of 46. Notably, the scheme has also been named after the late actor. The scheme seeks to install emergency equipment in public places to help people suffering from heart attacks within critical response time. The government will also deploy AI technology that can detect the severity of a patient's condition within four to five minutes and people with serious heart health will be given a free injection called tenecteplase, which helps prevent sudden cardiac arrest, at spoke centers.
